Communities of Practice (CoP), Centers of Excellence (CoE) and Centers of Competence (CoP) have grown in popularity and have also led to confusion, and disappointment in the enterprises that have striven to include them within their organizations.  These specific entities offer information technology and other business entities opportunities to strive for excellence and expand their skill sets.

This session leads you through the different models, their uses and organizational structures.  Explore how you can engage external communities as well as develop your own and how you can use these to drive your drive for excellence, build your in house competencies and encourage employee development.

Key takeaways are:

 1. Communities broaden employee vision and knowledge

 2. Communities democratize information and knowledge

 3. Communities transcend corporate silos

Presenter is Eric-Stephan Neill, member of the enterprise architecture team at Lexmark and Bluegrass Chapter President.
